My Flash files are not working in my compiled publication or ebook. Why?

Publications and ebooks made with HTML Executable have support for Flash SWF files, provided that Adobe Flash player is correctly set up on the end user's computer.

Although no changes are generally required, sometimes, your Flash files may not work because they need to load additional data.

Flash movies have different means to load content dynamically, especially with ActionScript commands. In ebooks and publications compiled with HTML Executable, Flash movies may fail to load external resource files like sounds and images (MP3, JPG, JPEG, PNG, FLV, MP4...).
In fact, Flash Player requires these files to be extracted to the hard disk in order to load them in Flash movies. HTML Executable publications do not, by default, extract their files to the hard disk unless configured so.

When virtualization is enabled, resource files are not actually unpacked to the hard disk but directly to memory, and the Flash Player directly reads them from there. This offers a better protection for your compiled files since it is more difficult for an average user to copy them.
